Special Edition: Nia is 1 year old!
Special Edition: Nia is already 1 year old!!!!
We have come a long way!
Nia went from this alien.....
to this impressive bump.....

to this skinny and awkward, but still cute newborn...

to a young lady:

The big news come first of course:
FINALLY it happened! Nia grew her very first tooth! At 11 and a half months!
Here is the evidence:
And since Nia has always been a special girl, and has always done things her way, she decided to start walking alone that very day. Yes! Tooth and first steps! She made Mama and Papa so proud! Here is a little walking video:
Now some birthday highlights: On Dec. 21st Nia celebrated her 1st birthday:

In the morning she opened her gifts from Mama, Papa, and Grandma:

Grandma sent Nia this cool dress from America:

Then we took some birthday photos:

Mama baked this Sachertorte for Nia. The little things on top are Haribo pacifiers.

and it tasted delicious...
In the afternoon Nia had a real birthday party. She invited some of her closest friends.
Here are her guests with their Mamas:
Nihal, Liam, and Sophia

busy, busy babies...
Nia and her best friend Sophia:

Nia and her boyfriend Liam:
and when we said boyfriend, we really meant boyfriend.....

3 days later it was Christmas, Nia's second Christmas already.

We celebrated in Upper Austria with Nia's Oma and aunt Edda and some other relatives.
There was a real Christmas Tree which attracted Nia like a magnet. Especially when the candles were lit.
And of course Santa or das Christkind brought many many gifts...
i.e. a doll buggy...
a doll, and a pushcart...
Other special events since our last blog edition:
Nia's first Thanksgiving. We celebrated with good American friends. They made up the tradition to dress up for the big event, so everybody showed up in a costume. D & G were 2 brilliant scientists with their lastest creation: Nia, the human pumpkin. There was huuuuge turkey! Thanks Diana, Kurt, and Sophia!
This is Nia's 3rd favourite person (Mama and Papa are no. 1 and 2 of course - in which order is still being discussed), auntie Edda:
One of Nia's favourite hobbies: going crazy in the bathtub... getting her out is difficult and always brings tears...
One of Nia's favourite toys: the mighty Ongugu! Thank you Adane!
Riding him is as much fun as chewing on his ears...

another all time favourite is playing peekaboo...
It is also quite shocking to see how Nia is becoming a real girl, playing with her doll, called "the baby"...
What happened to out little baby? We miss that helpless little worm! On the other hand, things have gotten much easier with her being a toddler....
